Day 3

As of this morning Amos has lost 11 lbs.!  I however have only lost 1.  I was really frustrated by this so I got on line doing some more research and found that if I'm not losing weight, then I am getting all that I need and I need to cut back on the amount of juice I take in in a day. Maybe that would explain why I was never hungry!  So today I took out one of the juice drinks and drank water in its place so we will see how that works.   I am still getting plenty of nutrition since I juice at least 4-5 fruits and vegetables into a drink.   One thing is for sure I was definitely hungrier today than I have been the last two days.  However I have not had cravings to eat regular food or anymore headaches.  Amos is still getting hungry, however he said today that he is feeling better than he has is a long time.  Which is good considering yesterday he had a hard time functioning.  So it seems to be working.  3 days down, 57 more days to go.

Day 1: We survived

So we survived day 1.  It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be!  I was not hungry today but I definitely wanted to eat just because I am used to snacking around all day.  Amos on the other hand was a big baby.  Every time I brought him drink he made throw up face and whined all day that he was hungry.   In fact as I write this he is still saying "I am so hungry."

We've definitely decided that we like the fruits better than the vegetables. As Amos put it...the green vegetables taste like cut up grass.  We have got to figure out how to make the veggies taste better.  Any suggestions on how just let me know.   We ate, or should I say drank our meals at 8, 11, 3 and 6 and that seemed to work out well. Meal #1 consisted of kale, lemon, 1/2 cucumber, celery, spinich and apple. It tasted just like cucumber.  Not horrible just not a taste I am used to.  Meal #2 - Apple and watermelon.   Meal #3: Orange and lemon.  These two drinks were pretty good.  Meal #4: Parsley, spinach, celery, lemon, kale.  This was awful.  It really did make me throw up in the kitchen sink.  So note to self no more kale! So there is day 1 for ya, only 59 more to go.  Oh yeah!  I asked Amos tonight if I looked skinnier and he said I looked like beach angel...hopefully one day soon that will be true. :)

Getting ready to go...

We have officially started getting ready for our juice fast journey.  Juicer was bought yesterday and today I went out and got our fruits and veggies.  I am so excited to see the results.  Here are pics of our fridge showing everything we got to get started.

The beginning of a journey!

Yesterday, Amos(my husband) and I decided that we were going to start a juice fast.  We got inspired after watching a movie called Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead.  This movie tells of two different men who fasted, drinking only juice of fruits and vegetables that they made themselves in a juicer.  The results were amazing!  Both men were extremely overweight (one weighed 310 and the other weighed 428ish), both had the same autoimmune disease and both were on heavy steroid prescriptions because of it.  When the fasting was finished one man lost 90 lbs., the other lost 202 lbs. and both were completely off all medications because their autoimmune disease had gone away.   We were amazed!  Amos and I are both extremely overweight (Amos 305 and me 195), as well as, Amos having a condition called Neural Hypoxia, which didn't show up until he started getting overweight and the heavier he gets the worse it gets.  If fasting can help these two men lose weight plus take away medical conditions then count us in.  I will do anything I can to make sure that my husband and I are around for a very, very, very long time for our children and their children and their children's children...God willing.  So we begin our journey on Monday not just to lose weight, but to make us healthier and change our eating lifestyle for good!
